ARBOR “When you are in a restaurant, you should be able to see the sparkle in people eyes,” says master lighting designer Nathan Orsman, who recently outfitted Arbor in his signature glow both indoors and out. Custom filament lights, made in Brooklyn, hang in varying heights over central tables, giving each one an intimate, upscale feeling. “Our goal was to elevate the dining experience in Montauk,” Orsman says. DURYEA'S After 80 years of the simple, family-owned Duryea’s, Marc Rowan, the Montauk restaurant and shop’s new owner, gave the space a serious spring cleaning while maintaining a classic seaside vibe, again with the help of lighting designer Orsman. “There’s nothing else around it,” Orsman says. “It’s superchic.” The bayside building feels right at home with updated, sturdy wood seating and clean lines that keep customers’ focus on sundry items from local purveyors. 65 Tuthill Road, Montauk
