On Sunday, October 3rd, an evening to benefit Food Pantry Farm was held at Bouley Botanical in Tribeca. Chef and the Farmer, a farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing, curated by Chef David Bouley, included a discussion with the Chef himself as well as live music by 2015 Grammy nominated pianist & composer, Emilio Sollo with saxophonist Chris Cheek. The event was followed by an after-party at the iconic Tribeca Grand Hotel, now called The Roxy.
The Food Pantry Farm is a non-profit organization founded in response to the increasing number of East End residents who were turning to local food pantries for help. Last season alone, Food Pantry Farm donated to food pantries in Amagansett, Springs, East Hampton and Sag Harbor as well as to a local women’s and children's shelter, the Eleanor Whitmore Day Care Center and the East Hampton Senior Center. Food Pantry Farm’s mission is to grow and donate the highest quality fresh, organic produce to those in need while increasing access to healthy, locally-sourced products and raising understanding and awareness about hunger; its causes, as well as sustainable solutions.
