The updated, 1800s building was transformed with exposed white beams and cobalt and white decor for an elevated, city-meets-beach vibe. Prior to opening Tiina the Store in 2012, Finnish-born Laakkonen worked as a model and design assistant for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel and later as a fashion editor and stylist at Vogue in London.

After styling private and celebrity clients, Laakkonen launched Tiina the Store to showcase curated picks from international boutique brands for a chic collection with lounge-ready looks from Japanese brand Arts & Science, shirt-dresses by Casey Casey, homeware goods by Denis Colomb, cashmere knits from The Elder Statesman and Finnish mohair blankets by Lena Rewell. British designer and frequent Tiina collaborator Faye Toogood also created custom furniture for the store, including bleached wood and felt stackable cubes and signature Roly Roly chairs.

The store offers maker visits and brand takeovers beginning with Toogood this month, followed by a dinner series featuring Sonya Park of Arts & Science to encourage shoppers to engage with the displayed designers. 216 Main St., Amagansett, tiinathestore.com
